Antti knows not only the secrets of e-commerce development but also the secrets of scents 

Antti Inkiläinen, Product owner in the e-commerce development team, wants to help customers make choices that meet their needs and values. Known for his good nose for perfumes, Antti gets to use his passion in his work too. 

What do you do at Stockmann and how did you end up working here? 

I work as a Product Owner for Stockmann’s online store in Finland and the Baltics. I’m responsible for managing our external development partner and maximising the value of the development work in cooperation with Stockmann’s other e-commerce professionals. I was headhunted for the job. I was working elsewhere at the time, but the idea of a new role started to excite me. 

What is best thing about your job? 

Small, authentic moments live and remotely. I work closely together with our development team in India. It has been a pleasure to see how our relationship has grown closer and trust increased, even though we are thousands of kilometres apart.  My work often gives me feelings of achievement and success. 

Share one surprising thing your colleagues don’t know about you. 

I’m a perfume enthusiast, and I run a Facebook group for other enthusiasts. My collection includes more conventional designer perfumes as well as authentic artesan and niche products, not forgetting a few vintage perfumes. I immediately joined Stockmann’s Tuoksuopas (Scent Guide) social media video series when marketing team suggested it to me. Besides my interest in scents, my short period as a professional drummer might come as a surprise to many. 

Your most memorable moment at Stockmann? 

The first work day in the gentle heat of Helsinki felt like the start of a new adventure. With my head full of questions and new things, I walked through the historic aisles of the department store. Of course, I believe that the most memorable moments are yet to come. 

What’s the best way to wow customers? 

Personal touch is the key to success. I want to get to know my clients and help them make choices that reflect their values and needs. This allows us to be part of their memorable moments – whether it’s choosing a perfume for a special occasion or expressing themselves through new clothing choices.
